Terms

The short version, before the real contract.

Last updated October 27, 2026. This page describes how engagements generally work: the signed project agreement for your specific build governs, not this page.

Scope & payment

Every project starts from a written agreement covering scope, price, and a payment schedule (typically a deposit to start, remainder at launch). Work outside the agreed scope is quoted and billed separately.

What you own

You own your final content, brand, and the site as delivered. The Pew Estate Digital retains ownership of its underlying reusable platform and codebase: you're licensed to run your own instance of it, not the platform itself.

Security

Every build follows reasonable, current security practices. No website can be warranted unhackable, and we don't claim otherwise.

Hosting and Care Plans

Sites on our infrastructure need one yearly plan: Hosting & Security, or the Care Plan, which includes hosting plus support and fixes. Plans are billed yearly in advance and renew each year unless cancelled before the renewal date. Without a Care Plan, fixes and changes are billed hourly.

Text messages (SMS program)

The Pew Estate Digital texts come from (786) 756-0252, and only to people who ticked a text box on our contact form or project questionnaire.
